  1. I too have seen the pulsating landing lights on the 700's that Southwest flies. I also saw a 300 the other day using them, so Mr. Fitzgerald IS correctabout the pulsating landing lights on the NG. They are for visual recognition for both humans and birds. Mike Davis
  2. The NGX is spectacular, period. The only thing missing is the alternate flashing landing lights that Southwest uses. LOL.
  3. A good point indeed. I think alot of simmers have to realize tweaking, no matter what hardware or software you are running makes the simulation much more enjoyable.
  4. looking at your computer specs if you ran unlimited you would be way in the hundreds with FS9. I am running a Q6600 @ 2.75mhz and it took many hoursof experimentation and tweaking to get FSX to an acceptable limit. -Mike Davis
  5. James, 60fps in FS9 do u have a the the FPS scaled back?
  6. Michael, google bufferpools because that has a definite impact on the stutters. -mike davis
  7. I unchecked the read only box but it automatically returns to the checked state. also i right clicked the cgf but I do not see how to restore previous versions.
  8. Jack, what did you disable in vista? Mike Davis
  9. I will give it a try as soon as I land, KSTL-KISP. mike davis
  10. 1. i right clicket the manager icon and ran as admin2. i browsed and put the fsx root path which is C:microsoft flight simulator X there are no aircraft in the installed aircraft variants box on the left. the ng is in the aircraft folder with all 4 variants. any help is appreciated. mike davis
  11. It will get fixed then. I did not know if it was my setup. Mike Davis
  12. while taxiing my wings pop up and down. they go into the flight or flexed position then return normal every couple of seconds. mike davis
  13. I am running vista 64 bit, in regards to the ngx will windows 7 make a noticible increase in frame rates? I get 25 fps in the vc but stutters when panning in the external view. Mike Davis
  14. While the question always comes up about computer specs, FPS, and will the NGX run on my machine etc. We all can be proactive and make sure we are running FSX to the best of out computers ability no matter what the setup while we wait for the NGX. PMDG has an nvidia setup thread in the general forum which talks in depth about the interaction between the FSX settings and the video card settings. Look on the internet because there is a wealth of information out there which will make a difference how FSX will run. I use nhancer and made big changes with the FPS. I almost exclusively fly the MD-11 and active sky evolution with a constant 30 FPS with the sliders mid way. My setup is a q6600 2.6 ghz oc'd to 3.0, GTS 250 for my primary display and a g-force 9600gt for my second monitor which is where I put the FMS window. So this thread can build with constructive information we all can learn from and make the arrival of the NGX a few FPS better. Mike Davis
  15. I enabled auomatic downloads and its working fine. Thanks for all your help. -Mike
