August 9, 201114 yr Hi, Purchased the NGX on release day and would first like to congratulate and thank PMDG for the hard work in developing such an incredible product. I'm extremely impressed with the graphical quality and level of detail and complexity of this aircraft, which I feel the Boeing 737 (as one of the best, if not THE best selling commercial aircraft in the world) deserves. I've flown the included Tutorial 1 (EGKK-EHAM) flight a couple of times over, and it's very well written and easy to follow, and as such my first flights went without a hitch. It mentions "following tutorials", I just wondered if there were plans for a Tutorial 2? August 9, 201114 yr If i recall correctly the 2nd tutorial will be released in a week or so. Right now solving the few remaining issues it priority, though, so there might be a delay.
August 9, 201114 yr Yes, it is scheduled to come out at the same time as the NGX addons, whenever that is. Note that after you do the tutorial a couple of times, you are pretty well equipped to to a flight of your own. What I did was first to do a couple of flyarounds taking off and landing from the same airport landing by hand and then with the autopilot, then programming a whole flight like the tutorial with SIDS and STARS (it is easier to use a program like FS Commander to make the flight plan), and try to do it like the tutorial did. I could be wrong, but I don't expect Tutorial 2 to come out this week or even next month. If you really find it too difficult to understand the NGX procedures, somewhat similar and easier planes to fly with good documentation are the Level D 767 and the Captain Sim 767. The latter has much better graphics similar to NGX, but if you get that one use the Level D manuals (free) that are more user-friendly. For a total newbie, the 737NGX can be a bit overwhelming. August 9, 201114 yr Author Ok thanks guys. What tools/websites do you guys use for getting your flight plans/routes from and SIDs and STARs to use? That's the thing I find most difficult! Thanks,Tom Wright I use Flightsim Commander 9. It displays all of the SIDs and STARs on the map so you can pick the most logical ones. Also it has Navigraph updates. Robert Yunque
