Just ran into the same issue, all green flying from KCLT to KBOS @ 330 and it showed up.
did it remain on all the time since when it happened to me and after i changed flight levels it disappereared went back to being normal and only if i selected the range to 5 scale if i selected higher it was normal

I had terrain active on approach into Miami tonight, and suddenly I saw this: Is that normal?Turning off terrain removes all that green, but flipping it back on just makes it reappear.
