August 16, 201114 yr Author Do you need the Pro version of the Asus board? you could save money there and get a 570 Its that much better? Dan Cole
August 16, 201114 yr unless you need the features the Pro version has over the standard -V version, then why waste the money on it? Put it into something else. August 16, 201114 yr Just for the record, I never said that 1333 RAM or a Caviar Blue would bottleneck a Sandy Bridge CPUJust as I've always said that a good quality 500W PSU is more than enough for an overclocked CPU + single mid level GPU system (GTX460- 560 - most likely even 570)
August 16, 201114 yr ...like 1600MHz RAM Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
August 16, 201114 yr Never said you did . You did however say that 1600 is the sweetspot No. Like a GTX570? August 16, 201114 yr Author Do you need the Pro version of the Asus board? you could save money there and get a 570 Is a 560ti with 2 gigs better that a 570 with one? I can't do both. Thanks. Dan Dan Cole
August 16, 201114 yr Is a 560ti with 2 gigs better that a 570 with one? I can't do both. Thanks. Dan what resolution? for a single monitor, 1GB of VRAM is more than enough.Actually I would go with a 1GB 560 for FSX.
August 16, 201114 yr Author what resolution? for a single monitor, 1GB of VRAM is more than enough.Actually I would go with a 1GB 560 for FSX. I'm running 1920 x 1080 res. I do run 2 monitors, though. Dan Cole Dan Cole
August 16, 201114 yr In that case grab the 2GB version. August 16, 201114 yr What's your current GPU Dan? what IQ settings do you use?You can monitor your VRAM usage with MSI afterburner or similar, but for that resolution and 2D panels I think 1GB of VRAM should suffice
August 17, 201114 yr Author What's your current GPU Dan? what IQ settings do you use?You can monitor your VRAM usage with MSI afterburner or similar, but for that resolution and 2D panels I think 1GB of VRAM should suffice My current settings are irrelevant since I'm using a stock Dell right now And its a core duo with gigs ofram and a Geforce 9800. This is about a new rig I'm trying to configure. If you had to make a choice: A 560ti with GB or a 570 with 1GB? Thanks. Dan Dan Cole
August 17, 201114 yr Is a 560ti with 2 gigs better that a 570 with one? I can't do both. Thanks. DanDefinitely not necessarily. The GTX 570 has a greater bandwidth and faster GPU core to run the memory. I really high resolutions is what you do the 2GB is better. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society.
