A little help with a new PC....

Im interested in buying a new computer (since the current plays the NGX at 6 fps, and the default 737, at the lowest settings, at 10), and im considering a Digital Storm ODE computer. Now, does anybody (including Ryan) have any suggestions Or comments? How do you think it will run in FSX? Any comments are appreciated!Eduardo Rubini

That's actually a strong system. Have you referred to the dozens of other posts made about new systems in the past day or two? The advice in those are mostly good for you, too.

The system is very similar to the one I just built and you will be very happy with it. One suggestion I might add is another hard drive just for FS. I use an SSD, but maybe a 10,000 rpm veliciraptor. It wont increase FPS but it greatly helps with blurry ground textures and load times.

That looks powerful, maybe just a little more voltage too be safe if you plan on overclocking. Those 570's like power, although you are only getting one.
You're right - I was thinking the same thing. It's probably okay, but I dont know if I would rely on "probably."

The one in my sig is worth $1500 AUD so thats about $1300 USD, I know that is not the exchange rates for things but I did my system on newegg.com last night and it was $1300, so with that you would make upgrades on storage and RAM depending on what you want. As for running FSX, once tweaked and all it should be able to run pretty well but tweaking takes ages.

If I may ask, is the price of my system ok? Because since you build your own, I would just like a reference on pricing...Thank you,Eduardo Rubini

Any motherboard with LE should be avoided. Change the i7-2600k to an i5-2500k, then use the $100 you saved there to change that motherboard to a Asus P8Z68-V motherboard. The PSU is okay. You won't be getting any extreme overclocking from that. Ignore what was said about the 570 being power hungry, the 570 is actually quite efficient compared to the old 480 and other GPUs of similar performance. If you can, try going for a 700W PSU.

I should get a wattage monitor thing up to my PC and check it out. i have no doubt it would be nice and efficient.

They're far more efficient than the 480 that's for sure.

You shouldn't forget that the 480 does have more VRam and other little bits and pieces to run resulting in more power but I am also sure the 570 would have its fair share of areas where it passes the 480. its just the newer technology I guess.

And it's been proven in benchmarks that the 570 is marginally better than the 480.

Yes, I did see a lot of them but you would expect it to be. Its usually the 570 repaces the 480, 560 replaces the 470. If you see what I mean.

And they create a new one which blows the rest out the water :(
