August 18, 201114 yr After takeoff, I fell into almost-stall with bank angle warning. The autopilot has disengaged automatically, and I turned the plane back to normal. So I clicked CMD A again but It's green light turned off immediatly. CMD B can be activated well.I have set both FDs and well trimmed but resetting FDs and turning off Realistic A/P don't solve problem.CWS A and Dual Autopilot couldn't be made for landing, too. I think this is highly related-with Realistic AP option. When I turn this option off, it controls aircraft so roughly.Maybe at some point it disconnects AP and keeps it's "wrong" potions permanently so makes AP couldn't back on. Cruise alt is 3500 for flight and.. I'm curious is there any restrictions that prevents A/P on aftersevere A/P failure at certain altitude or any other conditions.. ↑ Flying with CMD B due to failure of CMD A If I could find a specific way to trigger this situation, I'll post again. August 19, 201114 yr Are the electrics and hydraulics normal? Hit recall and see if anything pops up. Matt Cee
August 19, 201114 yr Cruise alt is 3500 for flight and.. I'm curious is there any restrictions that prevents A/P on aftersevere A/P failure at certain altitude or any other conditions..Hmmm... But your MCP ALT is set to 2000. Are you in ascent or descent phase? If in ascent which I assume based on your post the a/c must be confused. the MCP 2000 ft will be the constraining altitude. August 19, 201114 yr Author I'll check recall when this happens again.. thanks but I didn't use any failures and nothing wrong in the overhead panel at that time. It's a descent phase and CMD died right after automatically disengaged. I took off with VNAV only and turned HDG on and off before takeoff..Thanks for replies! I'll keep it post if I see this again.. Peter Chang
August 19, 201114 yr It's a descent phase....Ya. Just noticed the ILS diamonds... Sorry. Also noticed that CPT FD is not MASTER. No green MA light. Confirm you have the FO FD MA lights lit.If not I would suspect a corrupt panel state. August 19, 201114 yr I noticed that when you override pitch up or down a little too hard, the A/P disconnects and falls down. Impossible to connect it again. The failure then appears in the FMC's failures menu. Cheers,It is because I gave up getting back to CMD A and currently flying with CMD B.I turned off both FDs and set CAPT FD on, but not works. :)(screenshot taken far after failure) I noticed that when you override pitch up or down a little too hard, the A/P disconnects and falls down. You are way too fast for starters !!! The localizer and glideslope should have been captured with APP at this stage and you should be under 200 knots with maybe flaps 5. Fred.Duh.. at the moment this pic was taken, I'm just after passesed T/D :)It's even before decel circle, though xDAnyway I thank you for your replies and I got many help by your answers in other posts!
