Brighter overhead panel light

Featured Replies

The overhead switches are very hard to see without the dome light on, pretty sure it would be easier in the real Cockpit as you could feel around a bit.

Because i don't like Dome lights during flight, this is what i did to make somekind of ambient light coming from the panel and pedestal: For the NGX-800 variant: Backup the Aircraft.cfg first Then in the aircraft.cfg change light.2 like i did below. [LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabinlight.0 = 4, 47.000, 0.0, 5.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclightlight.1 = 4, 46.000, 0.0, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclightlight.2 = 3, 45.500, 0.0, 4.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vc_ambient [sMOKESYSTEM]smoke.0 = 47.000, -1.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclightsmoke.1 = 47.000, 1.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight then go to FSX/Effects folder and duplicate the fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight and rename to fx_PMDG_NGX_vc_ambient Open that fx_PMDG_NGX_vc_ambient in a text editor and change the values of Color Start and Color End like below: Color Start=16, 13, 10, 55Color End=28, 27, 26, 0 Ambient light will come on with the NAV lights. The Dome is missing a light now but has still 4 left and still very bright.

Don't use airliners.net images as a reference, those are long exposure photos.Your screenshot is just as dark as it looks in real life during departure and arrival. Of course you also have flood lights but those are normally turned on only during cruise or when there's a thunderstorm that could blind the pilots.

Look at the bottom the the aft overhead. There is a white three position switch in the middle, that's your dome lights. Tyler St. Peter
Thank you very much, I found it and now I can see all the knobs during my flight.Thankyou all but this was the light I was looking for Robin
