September 22, 201114 yr Great site for newbies, guys. This was my first experience with multiplayer flying, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Even the leaning curve is a low curve! Todd (Zoolander) is a super host, and will stay with you every step of the way. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
September 22, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the comments Paul. I am really enjoying these flights myself as well. I have made some good friends. I took a stupid pill last week and realized leg 9 did not take us around the North side of Mt St. Helens. I have corrected this. The new leg 9 is as follows: 66WA->56S (121.5nm) Hope to see all of you today for the flight. btw: If you have not previously setup the port forwarding required for FSHost, make sure you join early enough to get that taken care of. Any of us can help folks with that as well. -Todd
September 23, 201114 yr Author Greetings All,Leg 9 has been completed. A nice view of Mt St Helens. If any of you get a chance check out the Northern side. You have a good view of the active steam plume, and lava rock that made its way past Spirit Lake and down several valleys. Luckily, our compasses stayed true and we made it around with no issues. We landed at W27 (Woodland airport) for a meal, then off again to Seaside. Woodland airport is well lit, and also right next to a highway. You would not want to mistake the two. :) If you get a chance and have the fuel (I was running on 2 gallons in the cub at that point) fly South to hit Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock before landing at Seaside. You can actually walk to it at low tide.We are off again 9/25(Sun) 2100Z, 2p PDT/5p EDTReal Weather / Real Time / Real ChartsLast Leg: 56S->W04->KSHN (103nm)For more details, see the first post to connect to our TeamSpeak server. -Todd
September 25, 201114 yr Zoo, you guys might not know about this, but after seeing you comment about FSHost, the folks who provide FSInn for Vatsim also have server software that you can use to set up your own server. Don't know if you need it, but our group uses it and it beats FSHost and FSX Multiplayer by a mile.... http://flightsim.apollo3.com/files/fs-files-2.html Jay
September 26, 201114 yr Author Greetings Jay, Interesting. Lets chat about this some more. This could be very helpful. Do you have time to chat about this over TeamSpeak? I would like to learn more about this. -Todd
September 26, 201114 yr Author Greetings All, This concludes the PNW flights working toward the "bearpaw" achievement. This really was a lot of fun and each enjoyed every nautical mile of the journey. I think it totaled 1022nm in all. Of course, these flights are now part of our inventory of fun activities and we welcome anyone that wants to go. Trust me, there is ALWAYS somebody to fly with. We have plenty of surprises to come. Stay tuned for our next group of flights! -Todd
