September 1, 201114 yr Word Not Allowed,I have Windows 7 64 with Intel i7 CPU X980 6 cores 3,33 GHZ . Will you please advise my "Affinity Mask" numberThanks If you tell me whether your Hyperthreading is enabled or not, then I can tell you for sure.
September 1, 201114 yr Word Not Allowed,How shall I know Hyperthreading is enabled or not? Here is Core info from Task Manager.THX http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/5540/capturecorepng.pngSorry,this is more larger picture. http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/5540/capturecorepng.png Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"

September 1, 201114 yr Correct Affinity Mask for you is then 1364. It means using Core 1-5 as Miss Agron said, but 62 would be in the HT-disabled environment. With HT enabled, use 1364 to use all non-HT cores, since FSX doesn't use HT. If you insist on using HT-cores too, then 4092. If you disable HT in BIOS, then 62. Good luck!
September 1, 201114 yr Thanks to both of you for giving me such valuable information. I only use this computer for FSX. Will I select "4092" ? Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"
September 1, 201114 yr I dont think it would make much difference. Experiment. Best way for it. Experiment with 62, 1364 and 4092. Whichever one gives best results, stick to that one. Di, please, no misinformation:Using 62 in HT-environment is going to cause a 6-core CPU to use 3 cores in total. 62 means 000000111110 in binary (sorry if I missed a zero!!), which means Core0 fibers, Core1 main thread, and only one thread for textures. That isn't an optimal solution for a 6-core CPU.And yes, 62 or 1364, it's gonna make a HUGE difference in sim loading times!Go with 1364.

January 14, 201214 yr Can someone please tell me what AffinityMask I should use, with HT off & on? I have 4 cores & I use Bojotese's cfg tool, my specs are below. Edited January 14, 201214 yr by Rodd Kind regardsR.G
January 14, 201214 yr Can someone please tell me what AffinityMask I should use, with HT off & on? I have 4 cores & I use Bojotese's cfg tool, my specs are below. You don't have 4 cores. You have 2 cores and 4 threads.Hard to say on dual core CPU... I would probably leave it out. Or set 5 for HT on, or 3 for HT off. Both cores in use. You gotta tweak your FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION.
January 14, 201214 yr Thank you Word Not Allowed:)"You have 2 cores and 4 threads"......yes..... I was so tired yesterday after 10h of tweaking, reading & fps hunting....man it really got to me!FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION is not in my fsx.cfg....but it should go under [Main] section right? what values should I use for tweaking? Will try your suggestions thanx:) Kind regardsR.G

There are virtually hundreds of posts on FFTF.
January 16, 201214 yr On your dual core with HT. If you are running DX10 mode use AffinityMask 9. If you are using DX9 use AffinityMask 13 and enjoy slightly shorter load times and better texture loading.
