The one in work she refer's to is the one on her desk. The one I fly on at home is mine.I guess she just thought she was doing good.As I say bless her cotton socks, not.Wycliffe

You guys have it easy. My Friend is married and his wife is a pilot also. But only one computer. His problem is trying to get her off so he can fly let alone just keeping her away from it. I like dating girls that are not pilots myself. Unless she was rich and owned a Cessna 185 on floats and a Cessna 421 Golden Eagle. Haha! Cheers!

jeez can you imagine that being married to a lady pilot, heaven for sure. You wouldn't need to go out and buy that cabin crew uniform.woohooWycliffe

Wycliffe further to your post on "multi-tasking brains"- I remember seeing something on the TV a while ago which set out to prove that men have more"spatial awareness" than women.( this is apparently why we can park the car without going to and fro 50 times to get into the space.Unfortunately I can't remember what the conclusions were.Seems to me that this may also have something to do with using FS- EG:perhaps we are better able to keep track of where the runway is when it's just out of sight off the edge of the screen? Why oh why do I get the feeling that we(the posters of this thread) are living dangerously. Also ,why have no ladies yet replied to the thread? -surely there must be some out there reading it.Come on ladies - give us your viewpoint. Dave(locked in room with PC- making sure screen is clear of this before she comes in)

DaveI remember that show about spatial awarenes and I think the conclusion was the we men have more of it.I think it's simply because we have bigger brains.(that should rile a few people)WycliffeI do hope that people realise this is all a little tongue in cheek.

The lock on the door works, but I found a better way... become a slob in your own private room.Being a computer geek for a living, my computer room as a lot of "stuff" or as my ex-wife called it "junk"Enough of it around the floor, monitors, servers, boxes etc... and it becomes a minefield at the best of times. Then become super geek, disable the lights, get an X10 remote and have red lights on remote (yes I switch from white to red on night landings) and voiala, inpassable fortress :)Ok so now I have the whole house to myself, but it wasnt Flightsims fault LOL-Jonathan

I'm waiting for someone to write in that they built a full motion sim in their garage or something and that their missus serves them with coffee and croissants on long haul flights.Sometime I have a glass of the finest whisky brought to me.That's when she wants to go shopping in Marks and Specers or looking for that essential pair of shoes to go with the other hundred pairs the next day.Wycliffe

For Christ's sake guys,I divorced my wife. I bought the add-on I wanted, flew all the flights I wanted to do at any time that pleasead me. I quit my job as well. I got a virtual pay check anyway from the virtual airline. Who cared? However, I still have a good relationship with my son, cause he liked airplanes and FS and focusing the good sides of life. Nowadays I've got a three year old grand son that loves to fool a'round with my stuff. Screws up the FS and my computer constantly. I really love the kid, but...Somebody out there with some good advice? The kid is nice and I really love him, but I wanna have my FS secure. Should I have my son adopted by somebody else so that my grand son would become somebody elses grand son, or?Ulf B

Emigrate to a virtual place in the sun - I suggest Tahiti - the addon scenery there is very nice( leave all relatives behind) - you can easily afford it with that nice fat virtual pay packet.DavePS: with all this posting I'm starting to find it difficult to find the time to fly!

hmmmmmmmmVirtual paycheck s and virtual vacations give me an idea.no never mind I think its been done.hahahahaI'm on m y third glass of whisky and friday night is feeling very good right now.Wycliffe

Howdy,Have read this thread with much amusement. Gotta say, though, haven't experienced anything like this with the SO. As an ICT teacher at the local Polytechnic, and having worked with computers since the mid 1970s, the SO is more than pleased to see the back of a computer when she comes home from work. And whilst flight simming ain't her cup of tea (though she still enjoys flying "Crimson Skies"), she'll either play "Dungeon Siege", "Monopoly" or "Age of Empires" for hours and hours, thus allowing me plenty of quality time to fly. :-lol

Sixteen reasons why airplanes are easier to live with than women:1) Airplanes usually kill you quickly, a woman takes her time.2) Airplanes can be turned on by a flick of a switch.3) Airplanes don't get mad if you do a "touch and go"4) Airplanes don't object to a preflight inspection.5) Airplanes come with manuals to explain their operation.6) Airplanes have strict weight and balance limitations.7) Airplanes can be flown any time of the month.8) Airplanes don't come with in-laws.9) Airplanes don't care about how many other airplanes you've flown before.10) Airplanes and pilots both arrive at the same time.11) Airplanes don't mind if you look at other airplanes.12) Airplanes don't mind if you buy airplane magazines.13) Airplanes expect to be tied down.14) Airplanes don't comment on your piloting skills.15) Airplanes don't whine unless something is really wrong.16) However, when airplanes go quiet, just like women, it's usually not good.

Hi Guysthis thread has been one of the best ones for weeks we just got to keep it going. When you look how many views there has been you just cant help wondering what all the other readers experiences might be.Wycliffe

I dont have a wife so i cant comment on that, but i do have a grandma from Poland that came to the USA and lets just say shes not up to speed with technology, when she was watching me fly in FS she started to freak out because she thought that i had control over an actual plane and started telling me to turn of the computer and such. I found it quite amusing.Adam
