heres the issue:i re installed FS onto my Data (D:) drive so it would run better (which it does) i attempted to re install my FSX Accel pack, but when i press Setup on the CD, a little box comes up for like 2 seconds and nothing happens after that, any ideas how to solve this cheers in advance guys

Did you activate FSX?

yeah i have been playing fsx for a while since re install, found my accel disk to reinstall then the above happened.

It's hard to determine the exact cause w/o the error message but many users who have attempted to install Acceleration get a message stating something like "you need to install FSX first" as the Acceleration program cannot find FSX. Flight One has a repair tool that fixes the FSX entries in the registry so this may be worth a try: http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library . Best regards,Jim

Reg fix may work, probably an old entry that had not been overwritten when FSX installed on the new drive. That may be the beginning of more issues to come I'm afraid, that is why I wouldn't consider an install anywhere other than the default location especially when installing addons.

tried the reg fix, looks like because its on my D drive its buggered, might just have to live with out acceleration. cheers guys

I have installed it on the D drive on 5 computers, XP32, Vista32, Vista64, and Win764. Did you uninstall SP2 and SP1 first? Dave

Is your D drive large enough? I assume it is.If you had it on C drive first, uninstall it and take Jim's advice. Dave

theres 400gb free space left. what happens is, i put in the CD, press the run install set up option and nothing happens from there, little box flashes up for a second or so, so i at the moment cant choose where to stick the thing (pain in the rear end at the minute it is)cheersDylan

Some had luck by copying contents of Acceleration disk to the hard disk and start the exe from there Alain from Montreal

Dylan, Keep in mind also that you need to uninstall SP1/SP2 if you plan to install Acceleration. You need to install one or the other, not both as this has resulted in support issues as well.
