September 3, 201114 yr My speed tape reads 45 knts parked at the gate. It doesn't FEEL like I'm moving, but... Any thoughts? Thanks,Mark
September 3, 201114 yr It shows 45 knots minimum at all times because when the wind blows and it goes down to 0, it might be jumping up and down with the gusts, this way it doesn't jump on the ground and doesn't distract pilots. Regards, Renzo Marcus
September 3, 201114 yr In addition, do have a look at your ground speed (provided by the IRS instead of pitot-tubes), it should read 0 when docked at the gate. Ground speed display is also handy during taxi to avoid speeding tickets. Christoph Kühne
September 3, 201114 yr Author yep, I also taxi solely by looking at GS Thanks guys. Thought I had entered to Twilight Zone!
September 3, 201114 yr Speed tape is 45 Knots and above it doesn't go below that, and that is your IASYour Ground speed is what you should look for when taxing :D
