Problem moving seat with default keys in FSX

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone, I'm a new member just registered. I have turned to this form cause I'm not sure what I should do to fix my problem. The Core of the problem is this in FSX. When in Virtual cockpit and using the TrackIR I can not move myself up and down in the cockpit using the keys, Shift+Enter and Shift+Backspace. If I don't use the TrackIR the default keys for moving me up and down works fine. The Obvious would be of course is that those keys are clashing with the TrackIR. I emailed TrackIRs support and there response was talk to microsoft. So I did, and Microsoft directed me to here. Of course, here I am. I have tryed re-assigning but that doesn't work. The aircraft that I'm flying in FSX is the Virtual Reality Simulations F/A-18E (An awesome.awesome piece of crafting) with the TrackIR and using Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar. I don't think its necessary to give you all the computer jargon knowing that its now a hardware issue. Please help its an annoying situation. I Thank-you Truly Craw

Welcome to the forum. I also use TrackIR, and can confirm that you cannot adjust the eyepoint location while using TrackIR. The only option of which I am aware is to set your default eyepoint in the aircraft.cfg file, and then move your head up or down to change it while using TrackIR.

HelloOr buy Ezdok which will restore the ability to move your seat position using the keyboard.

Here is the bit of the aircraft cfg to add or edit: VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.800, 0.000, 0.000 // Pitch, Bank, Heading4.800 will adjust the angle down 4.8% which is roughly equivalent to 3 x Ctrl-QJust to clarify: The eyepoint is described in the aircraft.cfg[Views]eyepoint = 53.0, -1.8, 4.3 //(feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from reference datumThe reference angle for the 2D can be added to the panel.cfg if not already there.[VIEWS]VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=1.000, 0.000, 0.000 // Pitch, Roll, YawThe default zoom and panning rates of the VC and external Camera Views can be changed in "Cameras.cfg"(FSX.cfg folder) IAN
