Panels disappear after initialization

Featured Replies

Greetings all, I've been having an off and on issue the past few times I've loaded the NGX. After choosing the plane/airport, etc from the FSX free flight menu, the plane loads up, appearing normal. The initialization countdown line appears, and after that the panels (and most of the plane) seems to disappear. The view also changes to looking up at the sky. When I try to reload the plane I get a fatal error and FSX reboots. Almost always, after this reboot, the plane loads with no further problems. This problem doesnt happen everytime, maybe half the time. Here's a copy of my .cfg file. (and I seem to have 2 identical .cfg files....is that supposed to be correct?) As you can see, I do have the "Highmemfix" and Texture Load numbers as suggested. Any suggestions?

I was having problems attaching the file, and then the "edit" function went weird on me. All fixed now. Sorry for the confusion.

Try copying the FSX.cfg to your desktop, delete the 2 fsx.cfg's, start FS, allow all modules to run etc etc, load up the NGX, make sure all the modules are allowed to run, load a flight and see if the issue still occurs

You can remove the fsx.cfg.txt file, it is generated after a FSX error crash and is for reference only, FSX doesnt use it.

What exactly do you mean by "allow modules to run"?? Do you mean just load FSX as normal, load the NGX as normal, etc?

OK, this is getting weirder. I just deleted the fsg.cfg files (I saved a copy), loaded FSX, clicked 15x or so to allow the .dll's and "trusted" addons, went to the Free Flight page, and the rotating trike is now a grey silhouette.I havent even gotten around to loading the NGX. I've attached the latest .cfg file.

That's a copy of his actual FSX.cfg. He added the .txt on it to be able to upload it.

Ok guys....the problem's fixed, and you'll love the answer...It was simply an EZDOK issue. Somehow, I had changed the main view to one of looking up at the sky (don't ask). So, everytime I loaded the plane it reverted to that view. This pretty much uses up my idiot quota for the month.
