Would buying a TV monitor be better then a computer monitor?

Featured Replies

HiI want to buy a new screen to my new computer .I thought of buying Samsung SyncMaster BX2450 but i wander. Would it matter if i'll buy a TV monitor ( LED Full HD ) with a bigger size ? I mean would be able to see a bigger picture in FHD so why to insist on a screen spefically made for computers? Is it a wise thought?thanks.

I have both a Samsung 24" monitor and a 40" LCD TV hooked up on two different computers. I love the 40" LCD. Given my expereince with using an LCD TV as monitor, I'll never go back to a computer monitor. I use the 40" LCD for my primary flight display and set approximately 4 feet (eye distance) from the TV. The resolution is more than adequate not only for flight, but, for computer activities as well. This is my expereince and opinion. Regards, Danny

Thanks .. good to know. Its becoming a real consideration before i make the decision to buy a computer monitor that is small comparatively to a TV monitor.

I think big TVs as monitors is a bit of a waste. For that money IMO i think it would be better to get 3 monitors and have something that hugs around you.

Couldn't have said it better myself! The three monitors (2 17"s & an 18") in this pic span a 45" perspective. At 26" from my eyes that's all I see. No point in bigger monitors if they are then moved farther away due to graininess of the pic- which then means using higher resolutions which need more horsepower! Like a pup chasing its tail!Build your own little IMAX with todays giveaway 17" or 19" LCDs!AR

flew multi monitor for years and recently went to a 32 inch LCD primary and absolutely love it... I prefer the large pic to multiple small ones but idealy 3 32 inch tv's would be phenomenal and the best of both worlds ;)

Have a Wonderful Day
