AFCAD 2 to AFCAD conversion possible?

Featured Replies

Hi all,I'm messing with Paul Mainville's KDTW 5.0 (available in the file library) but the AFCAD file included does not cooperate. Is there a way to export the AFCAD 2 file for use in FS 2002?If not, has anyone started work on an AFCAD for this airport? I've modified AFCADs in the past, but never attempted a full creation.Cheers,Glenn

Howdy, well, I ported a few smallish AFCAD files to AFCAD2 in the following manner (and this will work in the opposite direction too):* Open both the FS2002 AFCAD version and the the FS9 AFCAD2 in windowed mode and tile side-by-side* Open the airport in both programs* Click on any gate, runway, comm frequencies, etc., in both versions and copy & paste the information. Obviously, this only works for the features that are compatible in the two version. It's a crude but quick way to translate the most important features from one version to the other. The rest has to be done by hand.Just an idea...Cheers, Holger

I have an AFCAD 1.4 about done (at least to my satisfaction!) send me an email addr by AVSIM mail and I will fwd as attachment. If I get the thing tested I might upload it to the library. I haven't installed it yet but probably will today. The parking still needs some work. I probably will have to go into easynavs2 and fix the ILS elements.scott s..
