September 21, 201114 yr Hi, Actually I am on a 6-7 hour flight from EDDM to GVAC via KPT UL856 RAVED UQ227 NINTU UN869 AGN UL866 PPN UN10 VASUM UN857 GUNET UW11 PINPOAbout 10 minutes before TOD, about 100 NM before PINPO I got a panel freeze (the last one I had was at the second day after release). So I decided to save the fligt. As ay returned to the cockpit was still frozen. So I switched throug the views with the "A" key. After I passed througt the 2D pannel the freeze was gone. This wasn't the first time I could solve a freeze this way. The first time was at the second day after release. I also cycled througth the views and the freeze wa gone. BTW:Hotfixes 1,2 and 3 are installed. And also a little problem I had on this flight. I switched the the CTR fuel pumps off as the fuel level reached 500 KGs. About three hours later the fuel qty in the CTR tank dropped from 500 to 000. As I noticed that my fuel level dropped in that tank I swichted the CTR tank fuel pumps on and off but it didn't change anything. While the fuel qty of the CTR tank dropped the wing tank 2 fuel qty dropped also, but the wing tank 1 hold at about 2000 KGs until the CTR tank was empty again.I don't know what went wrong, I never had this before.BTW: No failure is active. So now I hope my landing gear will work or I have to report another issue. ;) Jonathan Huschle John Rubens
September 22, 201114 yr Do you use EZdok? My displays occasionally stop updating after switching to another app with FSX in windowed mode and like you I select VC view again and all is well. I don't think this is the 'panel freeze' that other people are having. There was another post about the centre tank behaviour, I believe it's supposed to gravity drain until empty after the pumps are switched off. September 22, 201114 yr The center tank is fitted with scavenger pumps, that drain the tank of fuel and pump it into the left wing tank. The reason why you should wait until you have under 1000lbs of fuel in the center tank (or 453kgs) before you turn the center pumps off, is because the scavenger pumps will create a fuel imbalance (the left tank will have about 1000lbs more fuel then the right one). Also, if you wait too long, the center tank will be empty, and the fuel pumps will begin to overheat, because they rely on the fuel for cooling. There was something in the FCOM about this, saying some planes have an auto shutoff mechanism for the center fuel pumps to prevent this, but i can't remember exactly what it said. Cristi Neagu
