Weird things happening

Guest firehawk44
were do i uninstall it? i can't find an uninstaller anywere.
Click on the SP1.exe program and it will ask you if you want to repair or uninstall. I would also insert the Acceleration DVD and click on Uninstall when asked too. I believe SP2 and Acceleration replace some of the textures changed in SP1 so just installing SP1 might corrupt your Acceleration installation. Once SP1 and Acceleration are uninstalled, reinstall Acceleration. Best regards,Jim

I can't find sp1.exe. I could only find the installer, but it never asked me if i wanted to uninstall or repair. It just reinstalled it.

Right, uninstall everything, then start anew. Install FSX itself, then install acceleration, that's it. Acceleration has SP1 and sort of SP2 incorporated into it, so there's no need to install anything extra after installing acceleration.

That is - uninstall everything, as Ben says - but add this extra step:- do a registry clean immediately afterward, and then reboot the machine. If you don't have one - this is a very good, free cleaner:- http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_cleaner/registry_cleaner.htm

No it won't - but in your case I would personally uninstall everything, along with registry cleaning. Then we will have a clean slate to start afresh.

The information that you're conveying to me is that you have a shortcut to your desktop, and it doesn't make sense. Sorry - let's try again - what shortcut?

No-brainer, my friend. We can walk you through any part of the FSX install: we just need to be patient. To create a shortcut on the desktop, towerdude (do you have a name?) that will run FSX.exe - you open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder, or "place" where you installed the FSX program. Once there, you find "fsx.exe". Then - you right-click on fsx.exe - a window will open and you will select "Send to"; another window will open and you will choose "Desktop (create shortcut)" . This will create your shortcut on the main desktop. See? Easy!

OK, Jesse; thanks. So - Jim had asked you to remove fsx.cfg and restart the sim. Did you do that?
