October 2, 201114 yr Author I did so much overclocking on my system that I, as already said, found out that those other values bring nothing. You can overclock as good as without them.Only important things are LLC and PLL Overvoltage. At least on my ASUS. But from the docu, the guy also has Gigabyte board, and he mentions other values very little. You have a chip that can't do 5.0 @ 1.5 and you have to live with it or exchange the chip. I am just touching Vcore. I set 1.49V but CPU-Z is going and maintaing 1.44V. I am running 4900MHz and aparently n blue screens after 12 minutes with prime95. So, I am quite closed to 5GHz. ;) Temperatures with RealTemp are going from 57 to 69ºC. harpsiBasically two ways:Vcore up orMulti down. What do you mean by multidown? PLL down? harpsi
October 2, 201114 yr This is normal with SB, that when you are approaching your "wall", that you need much more Vcore to jump to the next instance. For example, you reach 4.8 with an ease, about 1.4, then you need a huge jump for 4.9, say 1.45, and then again over 1.5 for 5.0.But if you CPUZ is showing 1.44, this is due to LLC.Run LLC on Regular, no calibration at all, and run 1.5 Vcore. That is going to give you true 1.5V in CPUZ and potentially provide more stability. And to correct your "quite close to 5Ghz" -> you are quite close when you are stable for at least 10hrs. Which STILL doesn't mean you are 100% stable. Temps can go up to 80c.

PLL is enabled and VCCIO / CPU PLL both set to auto. I am just "playing" with Vcore with LLC setting to high and computer capability set to 130%. Maybe I should give 140%... harpsi

You can give it 140% but it won't make a difference.
October 2, 201114 yr Author There is maybe 30 to 31fps difference with 4.8 and 5.0. You can give it 140% but it won't make a difference. But there is a lot of difference between 3.4-3.8 to 4.9 right (the multiplier which I am "tuning" right now)? ;) harpsi

If I think that I can handle 5GHz it is my choice... You don´t need to be rude... I just ask questions and I hope to get a lot of opinions... Anyway thanks for your explanations. harpsi

October 2, 201114 yr They have 10! Mine only goes up to 7. Are you sure Andrew? Did you try scrolling down in the bios window under Multi step load line. I don't like more than 6 with 1.35v in the bios, under load this is probably somewhere around 1.357v Regards,Gary Andersen HAF932 Advanced, ASUS Z690-P D4, i5-12600k @4.9,NH-C14S, 2x8GB DDR4 3600, RM850x PSU,Sata DVD, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB storage, W10-Pro on Intel 750 AIC 800GB PCI-Express,MSI RTX3070 LHR 8GB, AW2720HF, VS238, Card Reader, SMT750 UPS.
October 2, 201114 yr Nope, only 7, I am sure. There is maybe 30 to 31fps difference with 4.8 and 5.0. You can give it 140% but it won't make a difference. Are you saying if I tried 5GHz, I could get an extra 30 to 31 FPS in some areas, or an extra 1FPS? If I think that I can handle 5GHz it is my choice... You don´t need to be rude... I just ask questions and I hope to get a lot of opinions... Anyway thanks for your explanations.harpsi you'll get what your CPU can do. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. October 2, 201114 yr Author you'll get what your CPU can do. That I know but I have right now quite low temperatures and even a quite low Vcore for 4.9GHz. And... I am now stable for more than 2 hours. I know I need at least 10 hours stable or even day... Maybe I can try the next step. That´s what I said :) harpsi
October 2, 201114 yr Nope, only 7, I am sure. Ah you must not be on F5 bios. October 2, 201114 yr No, I haven't updated. How do I update? Do I need to put the update on a USB or something? Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
October 2, 201114 yr No, I haven't updated. How do I update? Do I need to put the update on a USB or something? Yes put it on a USB, not sure if your board is dual bios or not...if it is flash both to same version. That´s what I said :) harpsi Oh just wanted to say something else: I had it stable on 5.0, with 72c, 10hrs p95 and Linx 300runs. Then I fired up Starcraft2, and it crashed in the 2nd online game... BSOD 101... I have also been trying to catch those magical 5, but in the end, I gave up and settled at 4.8, since I did a FSXMark11 on 4.8 and 5.0, and saw that a difference is SO small, it's not even worth the time to achieve (maybe) a stable 5.0.
