October 6, 201114 yr The following products completely transform the appearance of the SIM (in Europe and the USA). GEX Europe and USA/Canada changes the ground textures in FSX and is the best value way of transforming the appearance of ground without any FPS impact. For example, the south of England in summer stops looking like North Africa! UTX compliments GEX by providing landclass data that places towns, fields, lakes, roads etc more accurately and is useful for VFR fliers. Once again great value and no FPS impact. REX2 replaces sky, airport, water and other textures in FSX and transforms the appearance of the clouds and weather. It will affect FPS if you choose high resolution textures. REX also has a weather engine which is acceptable to many people. Airports are a great way of adding to the experience but I now tend to be very careful over their impact on FPS. If they offer a trial, this is a great way of testing the performance before you buy. Just to put the boot in to Aerosoft, their Heathrow kills my system, I'm going to try UK2000's instead as their Gatwick has much less impact on FPS.
