October 11, 201114 yr Hi Liam, some good advice here. As Peter has said, a great way forward is to overclock your i7. You have the same CPU as me and I have taken mine to 4.15Ghz on air, so you should easily be able to get yours to 3.8Ghz without any problem at all. You have to be careful though as the i7 quads run hotter than the newer SB, so you definitely need to keep a check on your temps. As has been said, FSX does not recognise a SLI setup, this is only necessary when running multiple monitors. As for other aspects of your performance, well, how long is a piece of string? There are dozens of reasons why your performance may not be up to par, most of these could be down to the sliders settings. One of the problems is you are running two of the most frame hungry addons on the market! Although Orbx in itself is not overly heavy on frames, in fact it's very good, but when you start flying into places like Melbourne and Brisbane, then it's every man for himself. With your rig, around those airports you need to be running sparse or normal autogen. The autogen slider is the key, this singly can affect the pefomance of FSX more than any other single change in the CP. Another element that has a mssive impact on FSX, particularly stutters and slow texture loading is running your framerate at unlimited. This is not a good idea as you need to free up CPU resources for scenery loading and not frames. So set your frames at 25 or 30 and see if that helps. Other points that can help are things like ai settings, vehicle settings, cloud draw distance, water settings, ground and aircraft shadows and of course if all fails the infamous cfg tweaks. If you are unfamiliar with a lot of these settings then report back and I'll post a list of things that will definitely help, that is if you are not already doing them HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
October 11, 201114 yr These are very low frame rates - btw are you getting these with the 3D cockpit or 2D? Paul Gugliotta
