October 10, 201114 yr Hi, I've had this program for a long time and had it working several times. Yesterday I installed it again since it's been off of my new computer, I ran my old registartion number and it failed so I emailed JD and got another one, I put that one in and it failed too! Can you please help I'd like to use RC4 today, thanks a lot.Cheers Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
October 10, 201114 yr Commercial Member did you put the same number as on the registration screen into the key request email? was there a minus sign on the number? did you put the minus sign in the key request email? are you running vista or windows 7? are you running rc as admin? jd JD Read my blog
October 10, 201114 yr When copy/pasting a registration number from the e-mail to the registration screen be sure the cursor rests after the last character with no trailing spaces. The last released version of RC4 was 4.3.3845. After a successful registration update FSUIPC and makerwys from the pinned links at the forum top and then rerun the RC scenery database build from within RC. If RC runs over WideFS as a client to an FS host PC, then in your FS folder run makerwys.exe first prior to the scenery rebuild from within RC. (The distributed versions of these with RC are older than current versions.)

October 15, 201114 yr RC must also be running in program level admin mode to perform all functions correctly. Right click on RC when starting it and select Run As Admin. For Win 7 that also needs to be done each time RC runs to allow it access to FS and its add-ons at the program level. Set up a shortcut to RC and set its properties to run as admin. This is a program security level and not a user security level setting.

October 30, 201114 yr Make sure the RC folder created and the folders and files under that are not in read-only mode. To see if your registration number copied correctly make a safe copy of keyboard.dat located in your RC folder. Open that with notepad or wordpad and see if your correct registration number is in there. It is the last field in that line with no space preceding it after the preceding comma. The fields preceding that are your default/modified keyboard assignments. Formatting of those is critical for spacing, etc.
