October 11, 201114 yr Hi All I have two monitor setup running through the 1 card but due to a crappy limitation in FSX cant use the second monitor in FSX full screen mode, anybody using FSWIDE setup to run stuff like EFB, FSC9, RC4, ASE etc etc on the FSWIDE client PC and do you notice it helps with the performance at all on the FSX PC, do you think its worth the effort to have a third monitor to display moving map, weather, charts etc etc etc, my initial opinion was that it detracts from reality by having charts and moving maps on a seperate monitor but stuff is moving that way in real life, thanks for any advice offered Wayne such Asus Hero Z690, Gigabyte Aorus Master 5080, I914900K, Kraken 360 AIO CPU Cooled, 96 GIGS Corsair DDR5, 32 Inch 4K by 3

I can run FSX in 'full screen' and then drag the ND's FMC etc to a smaller monitor to the left of the 'main' screen. Works fine, BUT my FPS aren't what they used to be. Other suspects are upgraded scenery and effects progs like FSDreamteam's GSX (Ground Support for FSX). I wouldn't give up any of my 'extras' though. Highly recommend GSX... changes your entire flight experience for $39 USD one-time fee. The competitive program from Aerosoft makes you pay for EVERY upgraded airport and does not work on 'plain' (non-upgraded) FSX airports AT ALL. I also recommend the FSDreamteam upgrade airports (KLAX, KORD, and others) really increase the eye candy on the ground.HAGD.Robert R. February 9, 201214 yr I think wayne is asking a different question here. The question is does it help to offload non DIRECT fsx load of the fsx pc (fsc,as21012 etc.)The answer is, it depends.Given the configuration wayne has (i2600k, 16gb ram and gtx570) i do not foresee a real noticeable increase of fps.I have offloaded fsc,as2012 and efb to a second pc and interface fsx through wideview, fsuipc to the fsx pc (a i2500k btw, see below) and i have noticed only a small effect (1 or 2 fps on already 20 + fps rates). My only reason to have done it is to prepare myself for a cockpit build. I want one pc running my outside visuals only, one pc running the onboard screens, switches etc, and one pc running all the other fsx related stuff like fsc, as2012 etc. Before i went this way i had a eyefinity 5980x1080p (3 screen) setup and 1 more 24 inch for the other stuff.Today i still run it this way but my fourth screen is now used for "non fsx related" monitoring of the other things going on in my fsx pc.So wayne if you are looking to improve your framerate, i would advise against a move of your utilities through a second pc. The gain just isn't worth the cost imhoGood luck Fred Koch system: r3700x , R9 Fury, Kingston A2000 M2 1Tb system drive and 512GB Samsung EVO 850 app drive. February 9, 201214 yr I run FSX on my desktop pc, and I have active sky, FSINN, and FSCommander running on my laptop over the network.FSCommander is the only program that needs FSWide to connect, the others use simconnect.I've read running active sky or other weather generators on your FSX pc will slow things down, and I know from experience that running FSINN on the FSX pc also slows things down a bit.The more load you can take off the FSX pc, the better performance you'll have.*edit*I also run Radar Contact on my FSX machine when I'm not on vatsim. I don't notice any hit whatsoever from it. Edited February 9, 201214 yr by trip7cap AJ Pongress
