October 12, 201114 yr AMD messed up again , but does it mean it beats the i5 2500k and not the i7 2600k ? was it an engineering sample or the finished stuff ?AMD always has been behind in IPC don't know why, and most of the softwares are intel optimized. AMD has been that since Intel went forward again - I would even say that the previous race, where AMD was front leader all those years ago was Intels tactical move.I do wonder still that most of the notebooks that we sell are AMD equipped though. There are 12 AMDs, and then there are 4 intels.

Intel is just too huge in finance and research where AMD is not but they did kick them once, the BD is supposed to a HPC don't where it will work , in the gaming segment it is on par to the Phenom guess i just rather buy the phenom for my board. For us gamers the 50% less power means nothing, its the 37% more performance! Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. October 12, 201114 yr The reviews state that BD is bad in single threaded applications but on multi threaded and heavy stuff it is going to perform, AMD says Win 7 is not optimized for BD architecture. I would agree on one thing is not applications are using a different architecture and so many cores on a desktop, most of them are intel optimized , we have to also see the gaming performance on a multi thread level. I would not say the review is bad or horrible. It also says that the i7 2600k is much faster, but it is as good as a BD in multi thread. But the IPC is not nice. With a higher clock, same single threaded performance in most benchmarks.Overall it has more or less the same single thread performance than the previous generation x4 and x6, but a lower IPC? I just can't believe itIn multi thread it does ok, but no more than just ok. Doesn't even beat the 2600K, so Intel can rest on their laurels for now with Ivy Bridge... at least until Piledriver Bulldozer is going to be a very poor performer in FSX apparently
