October 15, 201114 yr WHat happens If I have multiple meshes of the same area installed? will fsx determine which one is the best one to use? Because I have a mesh of all of europe, and then I have a smaller mesh that covers the alps. im hoping that it will all come together nicely but im worried that the lower resoulution europe mesh will override the high resoulution alps scenery.

October 15, 201114 yr Author Mesh is displayed based on LOD (Level of Detail). Higher resolution mesh is displayed last. Displayed last? do you mean first? like higher LOD has higher priority?
October 16, 201114 yr Mesh is displayed based on LOD (Level of Detail). Higher resolution mesh is displayed last.I think what is meant is that it is like stacking bricks, the higher resolution mesh is displayed over or on top of the lower mesh so it is the one that is visible to you.
October 16, 201114 yr FSX will display the highest resolution mesh that it finds by LOD, level of detail. If there are two or more mesh files of the same LOD for the same area, layering in the Scenery Library will control which is rendered last.
October 17, 201114 yr The thing is in FSX it is possible to compile a bgl with multiple LOD resolutions included. Something also to consider is that at a distance only the lower resolution mesh is displayed. I think typically it is better to include LODs from 5 up when creating mesh. scott s..
