October 17, 201114 yr Hi gentlemen, Last nite, I had what looks like my first failure. Like 10minutes before reaching TOD, an "Off Schedule descent" light illuminated. I went to the QRH and followed the depressurization steps. (not sure about the outflow valve actually). I started descent, but the light remained activated till the gate. After the procedure which involves passengers oxygen masks is done, I went to the FMC: 1 failure activated: "Pass 2 masks deployed" (or something close to this). Questions: - can you please confirm where is the outflow valve close button ? I supposed it's under the Auto/ Manual pressure switch ? I did a left click until pressure went to zero, is that the right way ?- should the "off schedule descent" remain on even after procedure is done ? Thanks for your help, Anyway, it was great "fun".
October 17, 201114 yr The error you had was caused by not flying the altitude dialed in the pressurization control panel. IE. You dialed 35000in but only went to 34000. Sean Green
October 17, 201114 yr Author Hi, But why is the failure name "masks deployed" then ? As far as I remember, I dialed the correct FL ...
October 17, 201114 yr Hi Emmanuel, Apparantly you followed the wrong procedure. The failure "masks deployed" was active because you did that manually by following the wrong procedure. The correct procedure for "off schedule descent" is to redial the present FL. in the FLT ALT window. Kind regards, Daniel Verhaal
October 17, 201114 yr Author Hi Daniel, Can't really see that origin. See "Off schedule" in alphabetical list of the QRH, it gives (don't have it right now) the page of depressurization ?!
October 17, 201114 yr Page 2.1 Cabin Altitude warningPage 2.10 Off Shedule Descent Be sure you look at the 2.10 page. Hope your passengers didn't freaked out too much when you activated their oxygen masks.. Daniel Verhaal
October 17, 201114 yr Author Hmmm, looks like I went to 1.2 and not 1.20 as suggested I will have a look tonite, thanks for help !
