ui_typerole......I'm intrigued

Featured Replies

I dont recall having noticed this entry in any aircraft.cfg line before. Could this be for future updates like BBJ and military variants?

Hm. SDK says:

  • ui_typerole
    • This value identifies the role of the aircraft.
      • Airbus A321( ui_typerole="Commercial Airliner" )
      • Aircreation582SL( ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop" )
      • Beech Baron 58( ui_typerole="Twin Engine Prop" )
      • Beech King Air 350( ui_typerole="Twin Engine TurboProp" )

Actually, the only purpose is that it may be used to "sort" your aircraft more easily in the UI. You aren't tied to any specific names either, so you can use any name you might wish, such as:ui_typerole="My Favorite Aircraft"

I guess I've just overlooked it in the past. I thought it was something new! Thanks.

Don't change any of these settings or you're going to have problems with the panel - we use them to read the type of aircraft from the panel and stuff.
