sp1 and custom waypoints

Featured Replies

Hi,I have already mentioned this on some other threads but it seems I need a dedicated thread to get a definitive answer. :)One of the SP1 improvements notes: "Added more robust support for custom FMC waypoints that are created as the result of downselecting already existing LEGS, RTE or FIX page waypoints". Well, that really does not seem to work for me. For example, when I tap in let's say XYZ/-2 it creates a custom waypoint as XYZ001, thus seem to work as intended. But when I try to create another waypoint using this new custom waypoint like XYZ001270/10, it says "Not in Database". The note clearly states SP1 should allow this to be done, but it simply does not work, for me at least. And no, the existing thread about creating custom waypoints does not help because it only instructs how to create a custom waypoint but not creating another custom waypoint from an existing one.I wonder if I am doing something wrong or this really is not working as intended.Thank you.Doruk Selçuk

I submitted a ticket to PMDG to check on this issue. Paul says he is looking at it but from my guess I say that this support for custom waypoints was not added. Perhaps PMDG could release a documented change list on various new features, elaborate on what 'more robust support' offered. I cant really help much because it would be mostly guessing.Marcus Jian

There have been good improvements with SP1 with waypoints etc but it does still need some work.I am sure PMDG are well aware of this.Fred.
