November 10, 201114 yr HiI am trying to get VHHX to start my takeoff roll on R13 instead of R31. I had this problem before and was helped and have been successful 3 or 4 times but this time no dice. I am using instructions given to me by Ronzie that worked fine up until now.For modern designed files it is safer to user than AFCAD 2.21. Optionally you can use the payware AFX utility. AFCAD was designed prior to the full specifications for FS9 scenery being published. Developers when getting the full information used upgraded tools to perhaps add additional elements including AI approach data that might be lost when saving a file with AFCAD 2.21. AFCAD 2.21 does make a good discovery tool and viewing tool though.First you want to see using AFCAD 221 what afd type files exist in your FS9. If necessary start AFCAD with a shortcut set to run as admin for VISTA or Win 7. Then click file/Open Airport and let it build its list. Enter vhhx in the airport id box and click search. The old airport is listed as H:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9SceneryAsiasceneryAP978240.BGL in File/Properties. There should be more than one layer displayed in the layer box. Double-click each one and a view should open. Only files that have runways in the view are of interest. If a view shows click File/Properties and note the full path to that file. Repeat that process for other layers if present. We do not want additional files of that type in general (all runways showing) besides your stock layer and if necessary other than your Fly Tampa scenery folder (g:fs9addon sceneryflytampa-hongkongsceneryaf2_vhhx.bgl) those others should be changed to an extension .bgx to disable those for now to prevent conflict. Close AFCAD. What we have looked for is additional unwanted afd type files that might have been installed by traffic add-ons. Besides stock, only an afd file from your add-on scenery or replacement specifically for that add-on scenery should be present.Install ADE9X from the downloaded zip and go through the basic setup like entering your initials. You should start it with a shortcut to run as admin for VISTA and Win 7. To edit the vhhx afd type file directly do File/Open Airport from BGL. Navigate to g:fs9addon sceneryflytampa-hongkongscenery and click on AF2_vhhx.bgl or whatever the full name is. A view similar to the runways showed in AFCAD should appear. Now click on LISTS/Runways and a table should open. Click on the runway of interest and hit the Edit button. Important - note whether the runway end you wish to change is primary or secondary in the Runways tab. Now click the Patterns tab. For the either the Primary or Secondary tab as appropriate select in the dropdown list for Take-Off and Landing 'No'. Click OK to close out the properties window and then Exist the runway list. Now, in the main window, do File/Compile Airport, and making sure you are in the same scenery folder do it letting you add your initials with any other suggested name changes to the file name. It should compile without fatal errors and occasionally a warning. If so you have saved a new .bgl file. Now you can exit and if you wish create a project folder so you can go back and make other changes and compile them if you wish or correct errors. No go into Win Explorer and navigate to g:fs9addon sceneryflytampa-hongkongscenery. Rename AF2_vhhx.bgl to AF2_vhhx.bgx to disable it. Your new file in there can be left as is or modify the name. It is not necessary to start the name with AF2 but adding that if you didn't in the compile step can clarify what king of .bgl it is.Restart and it should rebuild the scenery index and you should be good to go. I can do it now with my eyes shut but now I get this ERROR Message. ScruffyDuck Scenery Design Engine CompilingUsing FS9 BglComp....INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR C1003: Failed to create MSXML object! November 10, 201114 yr In ADE you should get a dropdown list of faults. You can also run the fault finder tool. You will get two kinds of errors- warnings and cautionary. The warnings will result in a fatal error which will abort compilation. In most cases it will take you to the error position if it is visual on the map. In ADE also be sure you have the new 1.50 base version installed with the hot fixes.ADE uses the SDK definitions and limits. For FS9 you need version 2 setup for the bgl compiler here;http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/9/3/b930da2a-b3bf-40dc-b830-b1da916eb9e2/fs2004_sdk_bglcomp2_setup.exewhich will also include an updated schema (xml definitions file) to be used with ADE.Once you install the 1.50 version do a help/check for updates to download and apply the latest version. Today it is Application 01.50.18.197 or 1.50.18.125 - depends on what you look at.Also be sure to get the from the Fly Tampa support forum for Kai Tak a hot patch that was released from this scenery if the fix was not already applied to the download. The cryptic message from the compiler means that some object violated the schema either with a fatal code error or a parameter outside the bounds of the SDK that was considered beyond cautionary. If you saved the airport first as a project, just open that project and run the fault finder and fix any fatal error conditions noted.
November 11, 201114 yr That error message typically means you are missing MSXML4 or it's not installed properly.http://www.fsdevelop...ght=ERROR+C1003regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
