Don't think that's true.. Pretty sure the external textures stay the same. It's only the cockpitand gauge textures that get changed. Or at least I know the VC textures are changed.I can easily see the difference.

Thanks for the good suggestions, I will try them this evening. I suspect that one of my issues is that when I uninstalled NGX and then FSX, I did not clear out %AppData% stuff before I re-installed.

model.cfg and fallback both pointed to the hires textures. My GPU is set correctly and displays seems to display everything else correctly. I used the perfoprmance manager to change from hires to low res but it made no (visible) difference. Chaning back to hires again still made no difference. This time I have followed the PMDG guide to uninstalling and it got rid of a lot more. I will reinstall over teh weekend and if that still doesn't sort it, I will raise a ticket.
