Okay I need some advice to why I'm getting Out of memory errors when getting close to completing my flts? I've tried about about 8 flts for testing purposes like KLAS-KSFO, KSFO-KLAX & KLAS-KATL this has been over a month period. I've only had maybe 4 of these flt's completed without issue the rest I ran out of memory. This is a new setup all new equipment and I used NickN setup guides for this build. I can't understand why? Hi Spookily enough I had the exact same message happen to me yesterday and after doing some digging I came across some help which I have included the link below. I'm not really an eye candy person so I followed most of it, in it, It talks about increasing your vIrtual memory and after I had done all the tweaks I flew the same flight that I had done before when the CDT occurred and nothing happened. Now I am not sure if it has cured it, maybe some one with more knowledge might be able to expand on it more. I will be doing some more testing over the week end to see what happens. At the time I was running more program's than I normally would use on a flight which might have had something to do with it. Good luck any way. Hope the link helps. Shaun's link is the right advice, Don. Set your paging file to 1-1/2 or 2 x your system memory: e.g. Let's make it 9 gig, so - click on Change->Custom Size->Initial size - make it 9216 MB, go to Maximum size - also make it 9216. This way Windows won't fragment it, and it will always be 9 gig.

Nope, it's not necessary to have a second swap file - but you can if you want. 3072 is too small, though. You have 6 GB RAM and so your swap ought to be equal to 6 GB x 1.5 as a minimum size. With the large drives we have now this space is quite affordable.

Do you have Aerosoft US Cities for KSFO & KLAS installed ?

Yes I have both installed.

Can you do a test with them disabled ? I can tell you with a high degree of certainty, that those Aerosoft US citiy addons are pure memory hogs, a 600Ib gorrila that will up your VAS like you have never seen. You can be sitting at the airport blowing your nose and it will OOM. You need to down your sliders that much, that cancels out the reason for having them in the first place.The San Francisco city addon is the worst, with Las Vegas coming in second place.You can fly KSFO to KLAX and it will OOM on approach to KLAX, it would be only the grace of god that your flight would make it that far. Anyway, try that and let us know how you get on.BTW, regardless what you have in the box, a coomodore 64 or the latest and greatest from intel, they will drag your rig to it's knees.

Just to add another comment to the above, and this is only my observation, I found the US Cities KSFO a total waste of money unless you fly very low in the M$ Trike, and not for using any payware planes like the PMDG NGX or MD11 as an example. either of these planes will increase your chances of never making past the pre flight checklist.Even if you do manage to make it to your destination airprt, you will OOM as soon as the airport loads, as your VAS was near exausted at KSFO,and does not refresh that memory depletion just because you have left the terminal area at KSFO. Even worse if you fly from KSFO to KLAS.The eye candy is nice, but you have to decide what is important, be OOM free, or fly the M$ trike, I know what I would choose. :)cheers
