hmmm... how shall i begin? ok, here it goes...every now and then, too often for peace of mind, i come across heated debates in the forum. ugly debates... i come here to relax, play, learn--instead, this annoying racket.the payware debates.dear fellow simmers, have some understanding for the poor programmers. they're trying to make a living of peddling twenty-dollar toys to a niche market. and you call their copyright protection attitudes unrealistic...dear fellow programmers--yes, i'm a computer programmer, too--have some understanding for the poor simmers. they can and will do without your models. you're not selling water in the desert.don't love each other if you don't want to. don't respect each other if you don't want to. but if you don't love or respect each other, don't talk to each other. you have no business talking to each other. nothing good will ever come out of it.sit back, think, think again, and find a way to coexist.peace!vilkps.so what's the point of my post? i guess i just wanted to tell the others, that vast majority of avsim visitors, who, like me, understand the reason why our favorite pastime installs itself in the folder called microsoft GAMES... i'm with you, let's play!:)

make that sparkling, on the rocks :)nice seein' you again, gridleyv

You too! After tooling around here for long enough, you start to recognize names. I've learned to just not look at threads with posts from certain individuals - keeps the aggravation level down for me. I've enjoyed AVSIM at lot more recently - maybe my 'personal selection' is a big part of that. After all, everything is what you make it!Best,sg

Agreed. I put a post in here sometime ago suggesting that all the threads complimenting and moaning about payware/freeware/shareware/whiteware/whatclothestoware should go under a different forum so those of us actually interested in playing the game and have questions about flying could review uninterrupted.I wish you luck with this one.CheersTim

Good post!

Sadly, although I would love to believe the sentiment of our poster, I feel that World Peace is more likely than Common Agreement on Correct Behaviour in Forums!Instead, I suggest the only practical alternative: Stay out of forums! Allcott

> Instead, I suggest the only practical alternative: Stay out of forums! I won't go that far Allcott; I need my daily forum fix. But I certainly do stay out of some threads. I usually read them (at least in part) the first day, sometimes bite my tongue (or typing fingers) to keep myself from getting involved, then never return. That works for me. R-EDIT to add:Good post Vilk. I hope that it does some good. E-

hmmm... is this what i was talking about?oh well, i'll take your reply as a sign of good will. anyway... :)cheers!vilk

yeah, i guess... but if everybody shared them, what would lawyers do? not all can fly, you know... ;)

Very good point Vilk. I look at it this way, I will pay almost $10 US to see a 2 hour movie. I really don't have that big of a problem paying $20-30 for something that is going to give me many more hours of entertainment.
