Has Anyone gone from FSX back to FS9?

Featured Replies

Just curious and as to why. I just built a new rig and can handle FSX now but - since just getting back into it I'm kinda disappointed about the lack of third party files as compared to FS9. Yeah, I know FSX gives us DX10 with its flashy runway and taxiway textures (literally) but it just doesn't seem to have the spark that FS9 has the ability to do due to FS9's add-on software available.Yeah, I'm actually thinking of uninstalling it and going back to FS9 before I invest time and some more money into FSX. I have an i7 running at 4.6Ghz and a GTX590 so FS9 cranked up with add-ons should run sweet.Lemmie know your two cents!JB

I switched because i can have more addons running continuously than in fsx. When i have a bunch of really nice addons running in fsx it lags a bunch. i can have twice the amount in fs9 and run 32 fps with no drops. Plus fs9 just runs better on my system.i have amd 3.2ghz and amd 4950

I switched from FSX to FS9 a few years ago, but now I'm using both. It was a combination of crappy hardware and the amount of add-ons I had.
