Upgrade res. 1680x1050 to 1920x1080 performance?

Hi guys,When I upgrade my monitor from a 22" 1680x1050 to a 27" 1920x1080, will I notice the difference in performance in FSX? I run a 480, so it should be able to handle well,I read somewhere that possibly a lower res [like I am on] actually makes the card struggle and unleashing 1920 actually benefits performance?Any suggestions? All the best,Alex

i run a 24 inch @ 1920x1200x32 on a Gforce 9800GT with no probs.(also running a 17 inch 1024x768 on the same card..with both screen going in full screen, fsx on 24 inch and pop-ups on 17 inch...no probs..)If my peuny 9800 can do it with out probs, i would imagine your 480 should do it easily.

i cant see it making a great deal of diffrence. Its a powerfull enough card.My way of thinking is that the greater performance requirements will come from GPU, and as we all know FSX is CPU intensive. So in theory it should make no diffrence. It will pull more from the GPU, leaving the CPU doing as it does right now.So if your getting 30fps now, a bigger screen shouldnt take any away.

You are adding less then 20% more pixels. If you GPU was your bottle neck then you would experience a loss of up to 20% in your FPS. But as you have a decent GPU and FSX is CPU limited, I think you will be hard pressed to detect a difference.

Very seriously doubt it - FSX is CPU limited, there should be basically no difference.

Thank you guys, I look forward to seeing the NGX in a higher res!
