FMC - GW & ZFW inputs

Featured Replies

Does anybody know why the FMS on my ATR 72-500, will not allow me to input the Gross Weight (GW) and the ZFW figures? I just get a messeage saying INVALID ENTRY
I'm sure I have the figures worked out ok, as follows:
Empty weight = 29762
Payload = 12734
GW = 42496 in tons - 42.49
Fuel = 5597.6
so ZFW =36898.4 in tons - 36.9
Am I doing something wrong with the FMS?
Thanks John

Might it be set to pounds and thus need entry in pounds instead of kgs/tons?Something else, just fill in 42,5 instead of 42.49.And the fuel woul be 5,6.cheersJP.

Shouldn't your figures read
Empty weight = 29762 +
Payload = 12734
=
ZFW=42496
+
Fuel = 5597.6
=
GW=48093.6
And if it's like the LDS 767, you should only need to enter the ZFW. The FMC should calculate the GW, although yours might not work the same, but I think your method of calculating ZFW is wrong.
In your screenshot, your GW is shown correctly as 48093, not your figure of 42496. Also your reserves of 0.4 seem very low!

Thanks guys. The weight does have to entered in tons hence 4.49, or as you say 4.5. I don't think 4,5 will work, but I'll try it.I'll get to the bottom of it I hopeCheersJohn
