Losing power on the climb

Featured Replies

i am rather not really familiar with the skymaster.could someone explain to me what the turbo tweak is?
Makes it fly higher, much higher, faster cruise, and higher climb rate without messing up the great handling package. Read these pages for the detail of where and how to make it work for you.Ray

Check your changes very closely. Must be a simple typo someplace. Make all the changes, I have no idea what happens with partial changes. Send me a PM with your email address and I will send you my file for comparison.Ray

  • 3 months later...

Well, the "Icing" problem just bit me tonight. I was cruising at 9000ft, in cloud, when the power drained away to almost zero, then it came back all on its own. I checked the mixtures - A-OK. I thought that I must have had a "failure" set to 'on', but none enabled. Cruised for another 10 or so mins, and the power slowly sank again. This time I had to cancel IFR and descend. Got it re-lit at 5000ft. Found an 'alternate' and put her down.

Thanks to the 'mechanics' at this forum, I now know what the "problem" was. Pitty there was no mention of it in the "AOM" :Waiting:

Thanks guys for your help :Applause:

Now to go find my PAX and head off again.

BTW: does this 'icing' problem still rear its ugly head when you "install" the Turbo?

Cheers -- Peter Edrupt
