Brilliant 747-400

Featured Replies

Anyone else using the747-400 in XP10 now made available FREE for XP9 . It's excellent.Commercial Level Simulations got it right in my opinion when they realised that a sizeable group of simmers like flying a nice looking Airliner with reasonably believable flight characteristics that doesn't take 30mins to prep after 10hrs of flight manual reading. And with their 747 they nearly succeeded. Good looking it was but unfortunately despite their valiant efforts they were working within the FSX framework so forget about practising IFR the ADI was a slide show, landing and groundhandling was ..well FSX standard (nuff' said) and you had to take the V-speeds with abit of salt .But this ...WHOOWWW.Courtesy of Austin commisioning a payware designer to produce a 3D cockpit and revise the external model the stock aircraft has been transformed. Immersive cockpit believable flight dynamics (inc. landing), X-Plane standard super smooth instruments and it looks gorgeous ; and that's in XP9.Is it perfect. No it certainly is not. Personally using PMDG info for reference I think it's 50,000lb light ie for the vspeeds to give you the correct attitudes on finals/ flare you need to imagine the aircraft is 50,000lb lighter than it says in the aircraft fuel and weight dialog . Trying to find how to tune the ILS and set OBS is a nightmare (use Sandy's radio setup application) and the digits on adjacent to the speed tape don't work correctly (the tape works fine.)So for anyone in the mood for a" Light the fires kick the Tyres" flight who likes high inertia flying the 747-400 is brilliant.

That appears to be Javier Rollon's work. His panels in my estimation are absolutely the best. After flight characteristics the panel is the most important thing to me. I seldom get outside an aircraft, I fly inside and usually stay there. How about Jason Chandler doing the flight characteristics and J. Rollon doing the panel. That would be worth paying for a Cessna 172 or Cardinal, or better a 185.I might say to developers, if you want to sell to me, show a lot of 3D panels in your ads and make those panels right. LOL

Can't wait. Loved flying the MAAM one in FS9; can't wait to fly this one in my latest civilian sim of choice. Will it run in XP9 or is just XP10?

That's not bragging!! You have every right to show stuff like this. Where can I buy it? This is one of my favoritesI didn't of course mean to imply that there aren't other artist beside J Rollon;-). Please tell me where I can see your other stuff. I am fairly new to x-Plane started with ver 9.6, and am new to this forum also, although I have inhabited Avsim since its founding.

Goran, it looks very nice. A little bragging won't hurt, if it's warranted, and this warrants it.Glen
