December 14, 201114 yr Something has installed a few bitmaps into a folder called FSX/textures. I assume that this was an error and they should be in the FSX/Texture folder? Could someone please confirm before I move them and delete the 'textures' folder. Thanks!Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
December 14, 201114 yr Leave them there. The add-on will look in the Textures folder for the textures it needs.
December 15, 201114 yr Author Hi Jim... I see that the same textures are also in the FSX/Texture (no 's') folder - there are only 3 of them. I guess I can delete the 'textures' folder.. FSX will find the bmps in FSX/Texture.. Does anyone else have a folder 'FSX/textures'? Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
December 15, 201114 yr Maybe the installer created the folder "textures" as a backup of certain files.I dont believe it should be there.

Thanks!MartinMost probably using the foldername ...../Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Texture"S"/ is an unintentional error made by the designer. He probably intended subfolder /Texture (without the "S").However: it COULD be intentional. But if that designer did that deliberately (it COULD work though).......using /Textures instead of /Texture isn't very clever :)As proven by this thread ....Rob
December 15, 201114 yr Moderator Does anyone else have a folder 'FSX/textures'?Yes, I do. It was created by WOAI when I installed any one of the hundreds of WOAI packages years ago. I left it alone since I figured deleting it would cause which ever AI model to be missing textures when they were called. There's no harm in having that folder in your root FSX folder. I've had it like that since '09 and have no issues. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
December 15, 201114 yr Author Well, I'll just leave it - I was pretty sure that it was a slip on the part of whoever produced one of the 3rd. party sceneries I have in FSX, but as you say, as the same files are in the FSX/texture folder too, it can't do any harm. Thanks,Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
