December 14, 201114 yr Hi Captains,I was wondering how many of you are actually using the "color utility" allowing a VC lighting color change, you know the one from Avsim. First of all would you recommend it? And also, could some of you using this soft post some screens (at night)?Thank you! December 14, 201114 yr Bakaman - I like the lighting and it's easy to revert back to the original cockpit lighting if you try it and don't like it. Feel free to contact me via PM if you have any other questions.Pete

I'm looking for a color being closer to the real thing even if the PMDG default is pretty good. Kaman BAPMDG 737 NGX Flight Preparation using EFB, TOPCAT, FSBUILD & AS2012 Leaving the dream ! December 15, 201114 yr THANK YOU VERY MUCH Pete ! Are there different sets of color or what ? I'm looking for a color being closer to the real thing even if the PMDG default is pretty good.I think PMDG created the correct colors for cockpit lighting; photos you see of 737 NG cockpits on the web are probably not correct due to camera settings photographers use. Some one else with a little more expertise could probably elaborate as I haven't been in a real cockpit for awhile. The other set of colors available through the forum are gray/green. They look good. You can also adjust the settings yourself by increasing or decreasing the amount of Red, Blue, & Yellow values that are in the files from the forum. Pete
December 15, 201114 yr PMDG's colours are spot on, fact. You are correct that photo's on the web tend to show 'orange' or 'reddish tone' due to the colour balance and 'white' (Photography fun talk time)This has came up multiple times here but yes PMDGs colours spot on... Orange or 'warm colours' not so much. Craig Harris 'NG Driver' for an airline whom shall not be named...
December 15, 201114 yr Author I fly and used to fly a lot with my father right behind the left seat and real color look more like this: . PMDG's colors are very nice but i have the feeling that the cockpit is full of neon.(white). And i can definitely say that what you see when you are in the cockpit is more like a "gold" effect. Pretty simple. Kaman BAPMDG 737 NGX Flight Preparation using EFB, TOPCAT, FSBUILD & AS2012 Leaving the dream ! MONCTON FLIGHT COLLEGE: LIFE OF A STUDENT PILOT !

December 15, 201114 yr Commercial Member PMDG's colours are spot on, fact. You are correct that photo's on the web tend to show 'orange' or 'reddish tone' due to the colour balance and 'white' (Photography fun talk time)This has came up multiple times here but yes PMDGs colours spot on... Orange or 'warm colours' not so much.I'll back that up. Both as someone who's worked around airports for too long, and as someone who knows more than the simple point and shoot of cameras (love the SLR craze and the crazies who spend thousands on them, but still can't use shutter/aperture/exposure modes to save their lives, much less balance the image).
