Interesting. In 1976 my family and I flew to Toronto from Gatwick on a Wardair 742. It was our first trip across the Atlantic to visit our family in Canada and the US. The US family are mainly from Detroit. For a young kid the difference between Salisbury, Wilts and Detroit were pretty amazing. Mainly my Dad's uncle's brand new Chevy Impala compared to my Dad's pos Austin Allegro ;-) Good memories :-)

Hi Gavin,Fascinating, the year I flew to Edmonton was 1975/76. More likely 1975 but I can't be sure. It was that flight that spurned my interest in aviation which is why I am here making a nusiance of myself on these forums !! This was my first visit to see my grandfather who was Polish. Think of an old famous Polish King..first name Stefan and surname first letter B and last letter Y and there you have our family name. It was wonderful meeting him, he was a Professor at the University of Alberta and we used to spend a lot of time wandering around Edmonton visiting Polish Stores where most of his friends hung out. His stories about the war in which he fought were quite amazing.Anyway, sorry to highjack the thread Aharon, but your shots have provoked some very happy memories.Tristan :)
