Flight you want sounds? Here are some sounds...

Featured Replies

Until flight is released, listen to these sounds for the upcoming GTR 3 racing game (www.gtr3.com). I know this has nothing to do with Flight, but shows what is possible with audio on the PC. Put on your headset, and don't be shy with the audio.

Oustanding! Proves to show how important sound is for sim inmersion.I have yet to hear realistic-sounding jet engines in FSX. Listen to this Virgin Atlantic 744 spooling-up for take-off (at 1:50) and you will know what I mean.Cheers,- jahman.

Still sticking and rocking with FS9.

"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."

So I thought I'd grab a sound bite of the Virgin Atlantic 744 spool-up and replace an existing jet_whine FSX wav file... but which one? Then I looked at the sound.cfg file in the B737_800 folder, read a little about "sound cones", "rparams", and "vparams"... Yikes, what a convolution!Maybe some smart Santa could create a package that uses this excellent sound bite and include an equally great reverse thrust sound, too? rolleyes.gif

Re sounds, I would hope that it be possible to actually utilize my 5.1 THX surround system. I mean stereo sound is kind of outdated. Why not place the audio from the 3D world coordinates and blend so that it comes out of the proper speaker? I would think this a minimum for the next-gen sim title.
