Hi, the reason Im writing in this forum is that I haven't got access to tve topcat forum... I have been waiting for approval for a long time... My question is.. Im using topcat as my fuel planner for fsx... And I have a problem... The fuel to the destination is fairly accurate but it doesn't calculate the distance to the alternate airport I have selected... I have tried to select an alternate that is far away, bit the amount of fuel that topcat has calculated for me doesnt change... Am i doing something wrong or isn't topcat able to handle alternates?

On their homepage they advertise that it does calculate fuel to alternative but when I change my alternative the amount of fuel doesn't change either.

I think that this fuel to alternative option is quite new (am not a long time topcat user) they may fix it for a future update. Since PFPX is coming out soon with extremly more accurate fuel calculation the topcat fuel calculate option will be useless.

It was my understanding that TOPCAT was never intended to be a fuel planner. Whatever options there might be for this purpose, I think those are just for a rough calculation but nothing in a professional manner. As mentioned above, once PFPX is out, you will have a fully featured professional flight (and fuel) planner. From what we can read and see so far this will be a very capable software and a must have for everyone flying complex airliners.Markus

I've been waiting on pins and needles for PFPX, especially for the fuel planner. I just haven't found a great one out there and I've played around with quite a few.I'll echo Markus and mention TOPCAT really is not intended to be a fuel planner; there are others out there that are more accurate.Chris K.
