December 29, 201114 yr Having messed up my files with some carelessness the best solution is a re-install but when clicking on FS9 in thee list in "Start/Programs it said that this would uninstall a bit of freeware scenery, and not FS9.Stupidly or not I went ahead, removing goodness knows what, and now I have FS9 installed with no Uninstall.exeWhat can I do?
December 29, 201114 yr If the CD doesn't work, you could try Revo Uninstaller Pro, which will remove partially uninstalled programs or corrupted uninstalls. Unfortunately it costs about $19 (there is a free version but I'm not sure if it would do what you want). Alternatively you could just delete all the FS9 files, then use a clean-up program like Ccleaner (free to download) which will clean out any leftover files and clean the registry of orphan keys. You should be good to go on an FS9 re-install then.
December 30, 201114 yr Author IUninstall from the cd: DUH! Basic beginner lesson nº 321. Makes me feel pretty stupid. The "delete and clean" option that Raindance suggests sounds good: I can delete FS9 default content and leave all my stuff like scenery and aircraft, then reconnect the dots - as many as possible - after a clean install.Silly to have made such a newbie/lazy mistake as just throwing in content without any safeguards.Thanks.
December 30, 201114 yr Author Just wondered if there was a way to delete just enough of FS9 - or something specific - so that I can keep my folder structure and content that I know is safe and just let the cds install over bad or non-default stuff. If you see what I mean.
