December 31, 201114 yr I have read online that the a320 rudder pedals provide nose wheel steering up to about 6 degree deflections. Why then do I see a320's performing flight control checks at my local airport, rudder included, and the aircraft remain taxiing in a straight line? Thanks. Alfredo Terrero

December 31, 201114 yr Additional info: On Boeings it's not necessary to disconnect anything. The steering tiller (approx 60deg) overrides the rudder pedals. If you make a rudder check it's extremely important to hold the tiller rocksteady to avoid any nosewheel deflection while applying full rudder.
