Voice Activated ATC

Featured Replies

I am not really interested in online ATC but would like to get as much realism as possible without it.I downloaded and tried VoxATC for the full 7 days trial period and while i was impressed with the basic program (voices and procedures etc), I had nothing but problems trying to get the AI traffic to work with it. I could not get my UT2 to appear at all and could only get unpainted FSX GA aircraft to show. After contacting the developer, he told me that this happens with some systems (mine i suppose being one), this occurs and so basically i,m out of luck, as he said it appeared i had done everything that he could suggest. This combined with several problems i had with the sound set up forced me to abandon my intentions to purchase this program.I am still interested in voice activated ATC but am running out of options. Anybody use MCE for instance, or are there any other options out there?P.S. If you are one of the lucky ones and VoxATC likes your system, i recommend it from what i have seen.

I use MCE for ATC all the time, and it works very well. I looked at VOXATC too, but it seemed at the same time too complex and too rigid for my purposes (I didn't like the idea of reading scripts off the screen). MCE is more flexible in terms of what you can say, but it works with default FSX ATC, so you have to be happy with that (and not everyone is) or with Radar Contact, which I have no experience of personally, but others will comment I'm sure ! As far as I know it works with any AI - default, custom or package - that works with default FSX ATC.MCE offers a full-function limited-time trial package, so give it a try.Their support (via email) is also excellent..

Try PFE (OnCourse Software http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/) use a program Voice Activated Commands (VAC) http://www.dwvac.com. I have used this for a long time. VAC is a very versitile program that lets you add voice activation to many games and programs.Lynn

Thanks for the suggestions guys. As i do have RC4 and MCE can talk to it, i think i will take advantage of their free trial period. Also on doing some reading and an email to the dev, it appears that they are working on improved voices and some prerecorded stuff.Regards,

Wanabflyer how did yours work with RC4? I bought it and it seems to look down my simulator after a few minutes of running.

I know that you said you werent interested in online, but I would very highly recommend at least giving it a try. Nothing beats talking to a real human being when it comes to ATC in my opinion

I figured out a solution to my problem with the help of MCE support. Make sure you have a good headset and mic. My mic was messed up, wich was causing my flight sim to freeze. I use a ton of WOAI traffic, REX, FsPass and it all works well with MCE.
