Quotes from Josh:

Howard admitted that past products in the family were “obtuse, dense, and hard to get into.” The dropping of “Simulator” from the n

ame was intentional.

“This is a whole new product about the magic of freedom and fun of flying,” said Joshua Howard, executive producer of the game at Microsoft’s new game studio for the Flight franchise. “It’s for new audiences that include any people who look up in the sky and think airplanes are cool.”

You can play for just five minutes, collecting as ma

ny of the 25 rings as you can in a mission called Gold Rush Hilo Bay. The idea is to provide would-be pilots with “consumable, repeatable experiences,” Howard said.

“This is the right way to deliver an experience that reaches a broader number of people,” he said. “It’s a new muscle we are exercising.

This is a punch below the belt. Should be removed. Personal anonymous attacks over the Internet is as low as it gets!

Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

“It’s for new audiences that include any people who look up in the sky and think airplanes are cool.”

FSX already had this! There were many missions that were for the beginners. Between those, the lessons and scalable difficulty settings you can get peolpe into Flight Simulator, you dont have to turn it into a game. I thought FSX was perfect as it catered to the new comers more than any other version but at the same time it had everything that made FS so great.

“This is the right way to deliver an experience that reaches a broader number of people,” he said. “It’s a new muscle we are exercising.IMO you lose more people than you gain. 95% (maybe more) of the hardcore simmers won't go any further than the free version. The not so hardcore simmers might buy an add-on or two but will eventually move on or buy FS9/FSX later on.
