  1. Ok, now that is impressive. That might get me to try x-plane.
  2. Liz replied to a post in a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Well, I for one, am very excited to hear about this development and am looking forward to more news.
  3. Those are just stunning.
  4. I have to say that this looks really nice. Kind of surprising to see such good stuff in X-plane.
  5. Very nice shots.
  6. Those look beautiful. Great atmosphere.
  7. I have used a yoke most of the time and find that it gives a good sense of reality.
  8. Thanks for the link.
  9. How is it outside of that?
  10. I wish the code could be modified as well, but I think the only hope we have is faster processors, but unfortunately, that might have hit a wall. Arg. How frustrating.
  11. In its current state, perhaps, but nothing is really keeping people from using it for entertainment, although it is not being sold as an entertainment title. I have read from John Venema from Orbx that there should be some different pricing in the future. I suspect that may come with version 1.3 and would likely have an educational version for aspiring pilots. I know it will never be a title at Best Buy, but should be something that many true simulation fans can use.
  12. Meant to say that Prepar3d, however, to be successful, needs to have a different pricing structure.
  13. Well if you ask me, Prepar3d will likely do better than xplane version 10. I have looked at xplane and it seems so far off from what the masses could embrace. They really need to have some features available such as airports and something reasonable for cities.
  14. That 6670 card sure does not seem like it will have enough power. The article said that it will have 6 times more raw power than the current xbox 360 though. I sure wish microsoft would put something more powerful in the system though. Anyway, I don't want to hijack this thread, but it sure does not seem like too many people are in this forum anymore. It just is so interesting that there were so many people that were on this forum in anticipation of something that will never materialize. I am frustrated with this whole process that ms took us through. I guess there are alternatives, but still a ways off. Xplane 10 is just not ready for a mass audience and may not be for a year or two and Prepar3d will have to put out version 2 and I am thinking that will not be for two or three years.
  15. And to add, Microsoft has been even more hush hush about Flight, even in its current state, then about the next generation of Xbox. Below is a link that discusses some credible rumors about Xbox Next. Wish they could be less secretive about Flight. For goodness sakes.http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Oban-Xbox-IBM-GlobalFoundries-SoC,news-13984.html
  16. Very sad indeed. I was also going to get the product at some time. I wish him the best.
  17. You are right about people getting frustrated. Lot's of people on here have been with the series for so many years. As for me, I just started a couple of years ago, but it is a fun thing to do.
  18. Good point about release day, Trevor. :)I wonder if the Flight team will have any surprises for us all. I just don't think it would be a jet or anything on any mainland. Could be another GA plane or maybe the other islands opening up. Thoughts?
  19. I sure do hope that Microsoft does a better job with their public relations from this point on. It was really difficult having to patch together clues to come to any conclusions. Even now at this point in the game (pun intended), there is so much left unsaid.
  20. I think Lockheed will give us a much better simulation experience over time compared to microsoft. Within the next year or two, Lockeed will put out v2 with DX11 support and who knows, maybe a 64bit version. In addition, they will continue to expand the Prepar3d product to meet the needs of a professional simulation platform. ms will make moves to make a buck in the gaming space.
  21. Of course it's NOT better than Flight. I don't see any pretty flying coins in the FSX version. Flight will most certainly excel in the ability to earn points while flying around Hawaii, just like in real life.
  22. The 30gig system requirement to me would be in line with a worldwide coverage scenario along with a good amount of well developed aircraft. Hmmm, I wonder if Microsoft will announce anything in the future about what this might mean.
  23. As I was reading through some of the older posts, I read the OP post and think this makes sense, and I for one, hope this is kind of the direction that the Flight team will take. I really do not think that they will provide full world coverage, but do think that as the OP states, the Flight team will create some places that will be of keen interest and beauty along with gameplay.
  24. Both should be interesting with one being more of a game for starters and the other being more of a traditional simulator.
  25. Wow, brutal comments. Well deserved.
