January 7, 201214 yr ....am paused in flight with it right now. Just go to the Flight forum and look for the post regarding it. The second link is the one for FSX. What a hoot! This definitely replaces the ultra-lite IMO.First off, you are out of the weather....and can really put the miles under you with that ROTAX above. Having fun....Mitch'erP.S. Before anybody asks...no, it is not the actual FLIGHT model ported over. It is a freeware rendition of the Icon A5 for FSX. Oh...and unlike FLIGHT's rendition...I am flying it over South Michigan----NOT Hawaii, ROTFLMBO!Post Edit: Try this baby with headphones on. The Rotax has a really nice 'bite' to it dependant upon throttle setting.....Post Edit 2: Well....just flying around one of the out-islands of the Hawaii chain....the FSX version is a really good slow n' rubber-neck airframe. The canopy affords you great viewing, and this this freeware airframe is very responsive! I highly recommend everybody download it.Back to the palm trees and the pacific breezes....and oh...I can FLY to any other island. Ya gotta love FSX! :) Edited January 7, 201214 yr by Sesquashtoo
January 7, 201214 yr It's an interesting little plane, not intimidating by any stretch, I can see why it's the default for FlightVC doesn't look as "rich" as the MS Flight one, but this is freeware that someone did in their spare time the fact that a faithful VC even exists is a big plus (MS Flight's A5 was made by salaried modelers) and the center screen in the FSX freeware is fully functional which is just awesome.Overall if you like the Icon A5, or have FSX and are jonesing for a taste of Flight (use in screenshots or videos of your pimped FSX as a "Take That!" to MS Flight) then it's a must haveBest part, it's Free!
January 7, 201214 yr Love it man! Thanks, that takes the edge off of the whole Flight thing... Now fly it through the hangar like in Octopussy Cheers, Jonathan

I don't have the one where there was a pilot. Mine also seems a little more refined. The one I loaded up was the second choice on the posting. Someone also said that the second one was a little better rendition than the first. Do your wings fold as mine do, and then rotate and tuck back to the body when you engage the fold control on the ceiling of the cabin? Also, there should be the fuel cut-off valve there as well. If not, then you have the less detailed unit.Post Edit: Yes, I know that you have the less refined version...for my cockpit instruments and dash have much more detail and the AOA on the Angle Of Attack guage is very legible. Try the other one...I think you will like it even more.... Edited January 7, 201214 yr by Sesquashtoo
January 7, 201214 yr This thread is entertaining on so many levels. It would be great if someone came up with a detailed A5 so that we can have some of the usual suspects make some YouTube videos that blow the Flight! trailer out the water. Excuse the pun.

Excuse the pun. That would be SO cool. Let's make an agenda against Microsoft's Flight, making trailers that we put on Youtube and name them something like "In flight, free as a bird" - notice small F, otherwise could be interpreted by MS as a counter-advertisment :( :( And looking much better than Flight! January 7, 201214 yr Commercial Member I saw this aircraft at the Reno Air Races a couple of years ago. It is an amazing little LSA aircraft. Pretty cool that you can trailer it like a boat. Interior looks like a mid-ranged sports car. Let's hope ICON can keep their business going and get more of these in people's hands. What threw me off was that I did not have the pilot on my spot-view. I then surmised that you had the other one. Either I was tired last night, but I'll have to look again to see if 'I' am in the cockpit, lol.....MitchI saw this aircraft at the Reno Air Races a couple of years ago. If you have an extra $140,000.00 kicking around, you could be flying around in one...in 2016. Their present orders take them to that delivery year. Or, you can simu-it for $0.00! Fuel is cheaper too, in FSX, (smile). Edited January 7, 201214 yr by Sesquashtoo
