January 9, 201214 yr Hi, I have recently been having a spot of trouble with my FSX. Part of trying to fix these errors was reinstalling the add-ons I had, including my NGX. I totally forgot that the download URL had an expiry date and I hadn't come round to backing up the files on an external hard drive. So my question is: is there any way of reclaiming my NGX without making the purchase again? Probably a stupid question, but any help much appreciated. Thanks - Alistair. Cheers, Alistair Hibbert.
January 9, 201214 yr Commercial Member You can purchase the extended download option without re-purchasing the entire add-on.Always, always, always save what you download when the only copy of what you purchased was downloaded. I don't throw away CDs of programs I have on CD, so why delete the installer when it's done installing? You mentioned backing up the file, so I know it was on your mind, but always make sure the file exists somewhere on your media before deleting a copy.Never rely on others is the moral of the story. January 9, 201214 yr Keep in mind that after buying the $4.99 extended download service, you'll also need to open a support ticket to have your link refreshed.Kyle makes a good point. What I do is store installations (drivers, add ons, pics, etc.) on a bulk Caviar Green drive. I've also put my prized FSX add ons on an 8GB thumb drive. The great thing is, my Caviar Green allows me to reformat and reinstall everything in less than 4 hours time, save for Windows updates. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
