I believe you put your flight number there.

The pilots can turn the numbers on the yoke to match the flightnumber. That makes it a lot easier to remember you flightnumber when you have 6 flights a day all with a different number.

I've check this on the NGX and, of course, is modeled. But what about flight numbers with 4 digits?

Well then you are out of luck :) Different airlines/pilots use this for different things. One use I have seen is setting reference airspeed.
